❒ Performance — This GPU Doesn’t Mess Around

The Ryzen 9 8940HX is a high-core-count monster designed for desktop-class performance in a laptop chassis. Whether you’re streaming on OBS while gaming, rendering 4K video, or running virtual machines, this CPU has headroom to spare.

But the real star is the RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7. At 140W total graphics power (115W base + 25W Dynamic Boost), this GPU sits comfortably above the RTX 5060 and delivers genuinely high-end 1440p gaming:

• Esports titles: 240+ FPS — perfect for competitive play.
• AAA games at 2560×1600: 80–120 FPS on ultra settings with DLSS.
• Ray tracing titles: 60+ FPS with DLSS 3 frame generation enabled.
• Content creation: 12GB VRAM handles complex Blender scenes, DaVinci Resolve timelines, and Unreal Engine projects without memory bottlenecks.

The MUX Switch + NVIDIA Advanced Optimus ensures you’re always getting the best possible frame rates when plugged in, while intelligently switching to integrated graphics on battery to save power. It’s a feature many budget laptops skip, and it makes a real difference in both performance and battery endurance.

16GB DDR5-5200 is a solid starting point, and with two slots supporting up to 64GB, you can turn this into a mobile workstation. The 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD is fast and spacious enough for a healthy game library, though serious creators may still want to add a second drive.

❒ Display — Big, Fast, and Color-Accurate

The 16-inch 2.5K IPS panel is a step up from standard 1080p displays in every way. The 2560×1600 resolution at 16:10 gives you more vertical space for productivity, while the 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time keep competitive gameplay feeling razor-sharp.

•  100% sRGB coverage = accurate colors for content creation and design work.

•  G-Sync = eliminates screen tearing without input lag.

•  Dolby Vision HDR = enhanced contrast and color in supported content.

•  Anti-glare coating = comfortable for long sessions under indoor lighting.

It’s not OLED, but the IPS panel’s 500+ nits of brightness and fast response time make it arguably better for competitive gaming, where motion clarity matters more than perfect blacks.

❒ Design, Cooling & Build

The ROG Strix G16 carries Asus’s signature cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic — sharp lines, RGB accents, and a presence that says “I came to play.” At 2.50 kg, this is not an ultrabook. It’s a desktop replacement that occasionally travels. For Bangladeshi gamers who mostly play at home with occasional LAN parties, the weight is a fair trade for the performance inside.

The 4-zone RGB keyboard is responsive and comfortable, with a dedicated Copilot key for quick AI access. The 90Wh battery is larger than most gaming laptops, delivering around 5–6 hours of light use — enough to survive a power outage or finish a movie.

Thermally, the Strix cooling system handles the 140W GPU remarkably well. The chassis gets warm, but the WASD area stays comfortable. Fan noise under full load is noticeable but expected at this performance tier.

❒ Quick FAQ

Is the RTX 5070 Ti worth it over the RTX 5060?
For 1440p ultra settings, ray tracing, and content creation, yes. The extra VRAM and higher TGP make a noticeable difference. For 1080p esports, an RTX 5060 is sufficient.

Can I upgrade the RAM?
Yes. Two SO-DIMM slots support up to 64GB DDR5-5200.

Does it have a MUX Switch?
Yes. The MUX Switch + NVIDIA Advanced Optimus routes the display directly through the dedicated GPU for maximum performance, or through integrated graphics for battery savings.

How is the build quality?
Solid and premium, though the 2.50 kg weight makes it better suited for home use than daily commuting.

What’s the warranty?
2 Years Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty by Asus through Byte City BD.
