ASUS ProArt PZ14 HT7407 Review: A Detachable Studio Built for Creators on the Move

Creative professionals rarely get a tool that is both genuinely portable and genuinely capable. The ASUS ProArt PZ14 HT7407 is a detachable 2 in 1 built specifically to close that gap, pairing a new generation Snapdragon X2 Elite processor with a keyboard cover, a stylus enabled touchscreen, and one of the lightest builds the ProArt line has offered.

Display

The 14 inch 3K ASUS Lumina Pro OLED touchscreen is where this device earns its ProArt name. Running at a fast 144Hz refresh rate with 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000, and Pantone validation, it delivers the color accuracy creative professionals need to trust their editing decisions. An anti-reflection coating helps in bright environments, and full stylus support turns the screen into a genuine sketching and annotation surface rather than just a display.

Performance for Creative Work

At the core is the Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E88100, an 18 core, 18 thread processor with 53MB of cache and multi core speeds up to 4.0GHz, paired with a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated up to 80 TOPS for on device AI tasks. The Qualcomm Adreno GPU handles photo editing, color adjustments, and everyday creative software while keeping power draw impressively low. 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM supports smooth multitasking across creative applications, and the 1TB SSD offers fast storage for growing photo and video libraries.

Battery and Portability

A 75Whrs battery, charged through a compact Type-C 68W adapter, gives this device strong endurance for a Snapdragon powered system, well suited to photographers and designers working away from a power outlet for extended periods. What truly sets the PZ14 apart, though, is its weight. At just 0.79kg, it is dramatically lighter than a typical ProArt laptop, making it easy to carry between locations, client meetings, or shooting sites without a second thought.

Design and Creative Features

Unlike a standard clamshell, the PZ14 HT7407 uses a detachable keyboard with a soft, spill resistant key design and a precision touchpad, letting you switch between full laptop mode and a pure tablet experience for sketching or reviewing work. An 8MP front camera with infrared support handles secure Windows Hello sign in, while a 13MP 4K rear facing camera lets photographers capture reference shots directly into the device on location, a genuinely useful touch for a creator focused machine. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 round out fast, modern connectivity.
