Acer Predator Helios NEO 16s AI Review: OLED Contrast Meets 240Hz Speed

The Acer Predator Helios NEO 16s AI pairs the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with an RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GPU and a genuinely fast 16 inch OLED display at 240Hz, built for gamers who want both deep contrast and rapid motion in one package.

Display

The 16 inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) OLED panel runs at a fast 240Hz refresh rate with 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage and True Black HDR 500 certification. OLED’s genuinely deep blacks and rich contrast make this display equally strong for immersive gaming and everyday content viewing.

Gaming Performance

At the core is the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, a 24 core, 24 thread chip boosting up to 5.4GHz with 36MB of cache. Paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7 GPU, this combination comfortably handles current AAA titles at high settings and native 1600p resolution, with enough headroom for demanding ray-traced titles. 32GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM (expandable up to 64GB) keeps heavy multitasking smooth, and the 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD offers fast load times.

Battery, Ports and Connectivity

A 76Whr battery paired with a 230W adapter supports this system under load. Connectivity includes a genuine Thunderbolt 4 port alongside a second USB-C port, three USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Killer Ethernet, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm combo jack. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 round out wireless connectivity.

Design, Audio and Build

The 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard pairs with a DTS:X Ultra audio system offering up to six custom sound profiles through Acer’s smart amplifier. At 2.30kg, it’s notably lighter than many 16 inch gaming laptops in its performance class, likely helped by the thinner OLED panel construction.
