HP 255R G10 Review – Reliable Everyday Computing for Bangladeshi Users

Last Updated: August 8, 2026

Not every laptop needs to be a powerhouse. Sometimes, you just need a machine that boots up quickly, handles your daily tasks without complaining, and doesn’t drain your savings. The HP 255R G10 is exactly that — a straightforward, dependable 15.6-inch laptop built for Bangladeshi students, office workers, and home users who want solid performance for everyday computing.

At Byte City BD, we see this as the “get stuff done” machine. No fancy GPU, no RGB, no overkill — just a capable Ryzen processor, a crisp Full HD screen, and enough RAM to keep Windows running smoothly.

Performance — Smooth Everyday Productivity

The Ryzen 5 7535U is a modern 6-core, 12-thread chip built for efficiency. It won’t render 4K video or run AAA games, but for the tasks most Bangladeshi users actually do every day, it’s genuinely capable:
  • Microsoft Office & Google Workspace: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sheets run flawlessly.
  • Web browsing: 15–20 Chrome tabs with YouTube, Facebook, and email? No problem.
  • Online classes & Zoom: The 720p camera and dual microphones handle video calls comfortably.
  • Light photo editing: Basic Photoshop and Canva work fine with the Radeon 660M.
  • Streaming: Netflix, YouTube, and local content at 1080p play smoothly.
The 16GB DDR5-4800 is a major quality-of-life improvement over the 8GB found in many budget laptops. It means you can actually multitask without Windows grinding to a halt. The 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD ensures boot times are measured in seconds, not minutes.

Display — Practical and Comfortable

The 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel is exactly what a consumer laptop needs. It’s not fancy, but it’s functional:
  • 1920 × 1080 resolution = sharp enough for documents, videos, and browsing.
  • IPS technology = decent viewing angles for sharing the screen with family or colleagues.
  • Anti-glare coating = comfortable under indoor lights and near windows.
  • 300 nits brightness = fine for home and office use, though direct sunlight will wash it out slightly.
For Bangladeshi students taking online classes, professionals working from home, or families who need a shared computer, this display is perfectly adequate.

Design, Keyboard & Portability

At 1.52 kg, the HP 255R G10 is surprisingly light for a 15.6-inch laptop. It slips easily into a backpack for daily commutes to university or the office. The clean, professional finish looks appropriate in any setting — classrooms, offices, or home desks.
The full-size keyboard with numeric keypad is a genuine productivity win. Whether you’re entering data in Excel, writing reports, or coding, having a numpad makes life easier. The touchpad supports multi-touch gestures for smooth Windows navigation.
Port selection covers the basics: USB-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort for modern docking, dual USB-A for peripherals, and HDMI 1.4b for an external monitor. It’s everything you need for a home office or classroom setup.

Battery & Thermals

The 41Wh battery delivers around 5–6 hours of light web browsing and document editing. For a budget consumer laptop, that’s reasonable. The efficient U-series CPU runs cool and quiet — there’s virtually no fan noise during normal use, and the chassis stays comfortable even after hours of typing.
